Rio Grande City Toys-for-Rio-Kids Event Set for this Thursday, Dec. 21

The Rio Grande City Police Department and RGC Stoppers will be hosting the annual Toys for Rio Kids Toy Drive on Thursday, December 21st, at the Basilio Villarreal Municipal Park from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. This is a drive-thru event, for children 12 and under to receive a free gift and say hello to Blue Santa and Friends.

“We would like to thank H.E.B, the Starr County District Attorney’s Office, McCoys, AEP, JF Trenching, Chick-fil-A, and everyone else who has donated toys for our annual Toys for Rio Kids celebration,” stated Ana Ramirez with the Rio Grande City Crime Stopers.

Texas Crime Stoppers organizations are community-based partnerships formed by dedicated citizens, law enforcement, and the media. They work together toward a common goal: the reduction of crime and the arrest and conviction of criminals and fugitives statewide. Local Crime Stoppers organizations are designed to serve as a vehicle for citizens to relay criminal information to law enforcement agencies while remaining anonymous.

Anyone in need of reporting a crime in the Rio Grande City area may do so by dialing 956-488-8477.
