The Rio Grande City Police Department, in collaboration with Rio Grande City CrimeStoppers, is set to host its annual National Night Out on Tuesday, October 1, at Basilio Villarreal Park starting at 6:00 pm. The event aims to strengthen the relationship between the community and local law enforcement agencies.
Residents can enjoy an evening of food, games, contests, and kiddie rides while getting to know the men and women who serve their community. Admission is $1 for adults, and kids can enter for free.
“National Night Out is an excellent opportunity for our community to come together and interact with our local law enforcement in a positive, fun setting,” said Mayor Gilberto Falcon. “Events like this help build trust and partnership, which are vital for a safe and thriving city.”
“We want our community to feel comfortable and supported by our department. National Night Out is a chance for us to engage with residents, listen to their concerns, and show them that we are here to protect and serve,” added Chief of Police Noe Castillo.
The event promises a family-friendly atmosphere with activities designed to foster a closer connection between law enforcement and the community they serve.
