Rio Grande City’s Iconic Water Tank Restoration Efforts Continue

Restoration efforts continue on Rio Grande City’s iconic Water Tank with the addition of a mural featuring our beloved hometown mascot.

“As the City of RGC is beginning renovations on the Ground Storage Water Tank at the Old Water Plant we are excited to announce the reintroduction of the Rio Grande City Rattler Logo on the tower;” declared RGC Public Utilities Director Eric Flores. “We would like to thank the City Commission for initiating this design upgrade and bringing back this time honored symbol of our community.”

Municipal water tanks serve various important purposes within a community's water supply and distribution system. These tanks act as reservoirs, ensuring a consistent and reliable water supply for the community.

Water tanks facilitate the efficient distribution of water throughout the community. The stored water can be released as needed to meet the demands of residents, businesses, and industries.
