Rio Grande City Fire Department Assists With Homecoming Bonfire

The Rio Grande City Fire Department helped assisted with the traditional Rio Grande City GCISD Homecoming Parade and Bonfire celebrated on Friday, October 20 in downtown RGC.

"It’s homecoming time in the City of RGC. We would like to thank the Rio Grande City Police Department and RGC Fire Department & Emergency Management for their participation in today’s parade and bonfire," declared Rio Grande City Mayor Joel Villarreal.

High school homecoming is a week-long celebration that usually includes dress-up days, a pep rally, a parade, a football game, and a dance. It is a way for high schools to build school spirit and bring together students, alumni, and the community.

Bonfires are often held at high school homecomings to raise team spirit.
