The City of Rio Grande City is proud to announce the acquisition of a new fleet of vehicles for the RGC Police Department and RGC Fire Department & Emergency Management, made possible through a Public Safety grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. This significant investment in public safety infrastructure will bolster the capabilities of first responders and enhance their ability to serve and protect the community.
The grant funding, provided by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, has enabled the City of Rio Grande City to procure a fleet of modern vehicles equipped with state-of-the-art technology and safety features. These vehicles will be instrumental in supporting the operations of both the Rio Grande City Police Department and RGC Fire Department & Emergency Management, allowing them to respond effectively to emergencies and fulfill their critical roles in ensuring public safety.
Mayor Joel Villarreal, and the City Commission expressed gratitude to Congressman Henry Cuéllar and the U.S. Department of Agriculture for their support in securing the grant funding.
