The Rio Grande City Public Library is gearing up to celebrate Día Del Niño on Thursday, April 25, at the Basilio Villarreal Municipal Park, promising an evening filled with free books, games, prizes, and plenty of fun for children and families alike.

Día Del Niño, or Children's Day, is a cherished tradition in many Hispanic cultures, dedicated to honoring and celebrating the importance of children. In keeping with this tradition, the Rio Grande City Public Library is organizing a special event aimed at promoting literacy, community engagement, and family bonding.

Scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., the event will transform Basilio Villarreal Municipal Park into a vibrant hub of activity, offering an array of exciting attractions and entertainment for children of all ages. From interactive storytelling sessions to engaging games and activities, attendees can expect a fun filled evening for the whole family.

One of the highlights of the celebration is the distribution of free books to children, encouraging a love for reading and fostering literacy from an early age. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to win prizes through various games and activities, adding an element of excitement and anticipation to the festivities.

"We are thrilled to host this special celebration in honor of Día Del Niño," said Rio Grande City Public Library director Norma Fultz. "It's a wonderful opportunity for families to come together, have fun, and promote a love for learning and reading among children."

The event is open to the public, and all are invited to join in the celebration. For those interested in participating or seeking more information, the Rio Grande City Public Library can be contacted at (956) 487-4389.
