RGC Mayor Attends Career Day at Hinojosa Elementary



Rio Grande City Mayor Joel Villarreal and Melinda Gomez, Communications Coordinator for the RGC Economic Development Corporation, participated in "Career Day" at John and Olive Hinojosa Elementary School, where they engaged with students and shared insights about careers in public service.

 

The event provided an opportunity for students to learn about various professions and gain insight into local government roles. Mayor Villarreal and Gomez were enthusiastic about interacting with the next generation of potential leaders.

 

"We're excited to see the next generation take an interest in our local government," said Mayor Villarreal. "Events like Career Day are vital in inspiring young minds to consider careers in public service."

 

Gomez echoed Mayor Villarreal's sentiments, highlighting the importance of exposing students to different career paths at an early age. "It's essential for students to understand the opportunities available to them in public service," she said. "We hope to inspire them to pursue careers that will positively impact our community."

 

The Mayor and Gomez expressed their gratitude to John & Olive Hinojosa Elementary for extending the invitation to participate in the event.
