RGC Hosts Annual Color Rain Dash Fun Run and Health Fair



The City of Rio Grande City illuminated the night sky with vibrant colors as it hosted its annual Color Rain Dash Fun Run and Health Fair event on Saturday, April 13. This year marked the first time the event was held at night, adding an extra layer of excitement for participants and spectators alike.

 

The Color Rain Dash, a signature event in Rio Grande City, combined fitness and fun as participants navigated a course splattered with colorful powders. Alongside the run, the Health Fair provided valuable information and resources promoting wellness and healthy living to attendees.

 

"We're thrilled to see the community come together for this unique event, especially with the added element of running at night," said Rio Grande City Mayor Joel Villarreal. "It's a testament to our commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles in a fun and engaging way."

 

Among the highlights of the evening was the announcement of the winners of the Color Rain Dash. Gael Rodriguez claimed the first-place spot, followed by Hernando Ramirez in second place, and Saul Nunez securing third place.

 

Additionally, the City of RGC congratulated the Rio Grande City Fire Department & Emergency Management on their victory in the Color Rain Dash RGC Departmental Softball Tournament. The RGCFD Fire Gods emerged victorious, showcasing their athletic prowess and team spirit.

 

The Color Rain Dash Fun Run and Health Fair continues to be a highlight in Rio Grande City's calendar, promoting health and community spirit among residents of all ages. Plans are already underway for next year's event, promising even more excitement and participation.
