RGC 7th Annual Autism Living Awareness Fest set for April 27



Members of the Autism Living Starr County group attended the Regular Meeting of the City Commission on Tuesday, April 3, to commemorate the onset of Autism Awareness Month. At the meeting, the group highlighted the importance of acknowledging and supporting individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) as they strive to achieve and overcome societal barriers.

 

Throughout the month of April, communities worldwide observe Autism Awareness Month, aiming to foster understanding, acceptance, and inclusion for individuals on the autism spectrum. The Autism Living Starr County group's presence at the City Commission meeting served as a reminder of the challenges faced by those with ASD, as well as their remarkable resilience and contributions to society.

 

In a statement during the meeting, the group extended an open invitation to the community to join them at the 7th Annual Autism Living Awareness Fest. Scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at the Basilio Villarreal Municipal Park from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., the event promises to be a platform for fostering understanding, providing support, and celebrating the unique talents and abilities of individuals with autism.

 

The event aims to bring together families, advocates, and community members in a spirit of unity and solidarity, highlighting the importance of acceptance and inclusion. Attendees can look forward to a variety of activities, educational resources, and opportunities to connect with local support networks.
