MISSION, Texas - The Mission Economic Development Corporation has launched a new entrepreneurship initiative aimed at fostering collaboration and peer learning among local business owners.

The program, called Mission Mind Share, is designed specifically for Mission EDC program participants and award recipients. According to Mission EDC Communications and Public Relations Manager Candace Rodriguez, the initiative moves away from traditional workshop formats and instead emphasizes collaborative working sessions.

“Rather than a traditional workshop, Mission Mind Share is designed as a collaborative working session where business owners can share insights, ask questions and leave with actionable takeaways,” Rodriguez said during a City Council meeting Feb. 10.

The first Mission Mind Share session was held in January and focused on marketing and brand clarity. Rodriguez said the session featured hands-on discussions centered on intentional content, messaging and brand alignment.

The session was led by Rodriguez along with Yaw Sam, chief executive officer of Brand Genius.

Mission EDC officials said the initiative was created by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, with the goal of strengthening connections within the local business community while helping participants make progress on real business challenges.

Rodriguez said Mission Mind Share is scheduled to meet quarterly, with the next session planned for April.
