In a show of appreciation for dedicated city employees, the Rio Grande City Commission announced Leticia Guerra as the October 2024 Employee of the Month at City Commission Meeting held earlier this month. Guerra, a valued member of the Rio Grande City Public Library, has served the community for 28 years, making her a natural choice for the honor.
The initiative, introduced by a City Commission member earlier this year, aims to recognize the hard work of city employees who go above and beyond in their roles.
“Leticia Guerra has been a cornerstone of our library and has shown an unwavering commitment to her work and to the people of Rio Grande City,” said Mayor Gilberto Falcon. “Her dedication over nearly three decades is an inspiration to us all, and we’re grateful for everything she’s done to make our library a welcoming and vibrant place.”
Norma Fultz, Library Director, also commended Guerra’s contributions, saying, “Leticia’s hard work and passion for serving our community have enriched our library and made it a place of learning and joy. We are deeply appreciative of all the wonderful things she does for our library and our patrons.”
Guerra’s recognition highlights her impact on the Rio Grande City Public Library, where she has helped countless residents access information and community programs. Her role as Employee of the Month acknowledges her positive influence and longstanding commitment to improving the lives of Rio Grande City residents.
