Get Ready to Trunk-or-Treat This Wednesday, Oct. 25th

The annual City of Rio Grande City Trunk-or-Treat event will be held on Wednesday, October 25th, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Basilio Villarreal Municipal Park.

A Trunk or Treat event is a Halloween event where a group of cars with elaborately decorated trunks gathers in a parking lot, and kids go from car to car for treats, games, and other Halloween fun.

Trunk or Treat events are generally considered safer than traditional trick-or-treating because they are often held in a controlled environment where parents can keep an eye on their children. Additionally, because the event is organized, there is less chance of children wandering into unsafe areas or encountering strangers. Trunk or Treat events also tend to be shorter in duration than traditional trick-or-treating, which means that children are exposed to fewer risks.

It’s worth noting that while Trunk or Treat events are generally considered safer than traditional trick-or-treating, it’s still important to take precautions to ensure the safety of your children. For example, you should always accompany your children and make sure they stay within the designated area. You should also inspect all treats before allowing your children to eat them.
