EDINBURG, Texas - DHR Health will host a free Community Health Fair on Saturday, Feb. 22, offering residents access to health screenings and wellness information as part of its ongoing community outreach efforts.

The event is scheduled from 8 a.m. to noon at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance, located at 118 Paseo Del Prado. The health fair is open to the public, and families are encouraged to attend.

Participants will have access to complimentary health screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, fibroscans, glucose, skin cancer and vision evaluations. Organizers said screenings will include personalized recommendations and educational sessions focused on improving overall health and wellness.

Marissa Castaneda, senior executive vice president at DHR Health, said the event is intended to help community members better understand and manage their health.

“At DHR Health, we are committed to equipping our community with the knowledge and tools they need to live healthier lives,” Castaneda said. “We invite all members of our community to join us at this event.”

Healthcare professionals from a range of specialties will be available to answer questions related to chronic disease prevention, nutrition, mental health and other health topics. Information will also be provided on behavioral health, dental health, hospice care, medical weight loss, diet and nutrition, rehabilitation services, kidney transplant services and women’s health.

Organizers said the event aims to increase awareness of local healthcare resources while providing free screenings and educational opportunities for residents.

Local businesses and healthcare providers interested in sponsoring or participating in the event may contact the DHR Health Events Department at 956-362-3140 for more information.
