Women in Politics 2020 Dinner Forum Set for Feb. 18
The Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas (HWNT) Rio Grande Valley Chapter is hosting a Dinner & Forum “Women in Politics 2020” on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the DoubleTree Hotel in McAllen. The “Women in Politics 2020” event will feature Hidalgo County female political candidates representing both the Democratic and Republican Parties as well as some State of Texas candidates.
The list of confirmed speakers include: Brandy Voss- Candidate for Texas Supreme Court, Place 7, Kathy Cheng- Candidate for Place 6 Texas Supreme Court, Judge Gisela Triana - Candidate for Texas Supreme Court Place 8, Jessica Cisneros- Candidate for Texas Congressional District 28, Sandra Whitten- Candidate for Texas Congressional District 28, Vanessa S Tijerina- Candidate for Texas Senate District 27, Judge Nereida Lopez Singleterry- Candidate for 13th Court of Appeals Place 6, Judge Migdalia Lopez- 13th Court of Appeals Place 4, Hidalgo County Court at Law No. 9 Candidate Patty Olivarez O’Cana, Hidalgo County Democratic Party Chair-Norma Ramirez and Challenger Kassandra Elejarza, Hidalgo County Republican Party Chair-Adrienne Pena-Garza, and 449th District Court Judge Renee Betancourt. The event will be moderated by Judge Marla Cuellar of the 275th Judicial District Court. The event is open to the public and seating is limited. Tickets are $20.00 for members and $25.00 for nonmembers. Tickets to the event are available for purchase online.
