On Tuesday, May 14, Congressman Henry Cuellar hosted a dinner for a group of students from the Rio Grande Valley Explorers Program during their visit to Washington D.C., including students from Rio Grande City, Brownsville, and Weslaco.
The Explorer Program is designed to educate and train students for future careers in law enforcement. Their visit to the nation’s capital will provide the explorers the opportunity to experience the history, customs and courtesies of law enforcement honors.
During Police Week, held this year from May 12-18, these young adults will have the opportunity to attend various events in Washington, DC, honoring those who have fallen in the line of duty, while also visiting historical sites and museums.
