Greater RGC Chamber of Commerce Announces 2018 Parade Float Champions

IDEA Public Schools' parade float was named 'Best in Show' at this year's Rio Grande City Christmas Parade held in downtown Rio Grande City on Friday evening, December 7.

This year the parade is being organized by the newly reestablished Greater Rio Grande City Chamber of Commerce and featured parade floats from several local schools, business, and organizations. The theme of this year’s parade is Christmas in Candy Land.

"On behalf of the RGC Greater Chamber of Commerce, we would like to thank all the participants of this year's Christmas in Candy Land Parade," reads a statement from the Chamber. "A big thank you to all the volunteers that made this event possible. Thank you to our our parade judges, the RGC Administration, RGC Public Works, RGC Fire Dept, RGC Police Dept., RGC Tourism Dept, Rio Grande City EDC, RGC Main Street Office and the RGCCISD. Thank you for making this a Spectacular event"

Leading the way will be parade marshals Mr. & Mrs. Lino and Becky Canales. For more information about this year's parade, residents are encouraged to contact the Greater Rio Grande City Chamber of Commerce at 956-488-8609.
