Rio Grande City Set to Kick-off 2018 Christmas Season with Tree lighting

The RGC Main Street program will help Rio Grande City kick-off the 2018 Christmas season with the lighting of the town's official Christmas tree on Wednesday evening, December 5.

The Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place at the historic downtown Kiosk on Britton Ave. starting at 6:00 pm.

Complimentary snacks and refreshments will be served. The RGC Public Library will announce the winners of its Christmas Coloring Contest, and area children will be able to drop off their letters to Santa in the event's "Letter to Santa" mailbox.

Residents have the option to pick up templates for the children's letters to Santa at City Hall located on 5332 E U.S. Hwy. 83, or the kids can write their own. Residents may contact the public library for more information about the Christmas Coloring Contest.

The Christmas tree will remain lit for the rest of the 2018 Christmas season.
