With support from a Save the Children grant, the Rio Grande City Public Library is introducing an exciting Adventure Series designed to engage children in art, music, and dance.
The program offers a variety of creative opportunities for children. ARTventure invites kids to explore their artistic side with hands-on activities every Tuesday from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., led by library staff. Dance Camp, in partnership with KE Studio Dance & Fitness, provides movement and rhythm training for young participants. Dance Tots, for ages 2-5, meets on Tuesdays from 5 to 6 p.m., while Dance Kids, for ages 6-12, meets on Thursdays during the same time slot. Ukulele Camp, taught by Corine Maldonado of Starr Music Academy, introduces children ages 8-12 to the joy of playing an instrument every Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Ukuleles will be provided for all participants.
Norma Fultz, director of the Rio Grande City Public Library, emphasized the importance of offering enriching activities for local youth. "This Adventure Series is an incredible opportunity for children to explore their creativity in a fun and engaging way. Thanks to the support from Save the Children, we’re able to provide these free programs that inspire artistic expression, movement, and musical discovery."
In addition to the camps, the library will host an Interactive Art Fair on April 24 as part of the Día del Niño celebration and RGC Comic Con on May 30.
Parents are encouraged to pre-register their children by calling 956-487-4389 or visiting the library at 591 E. 3rd St. Those who do not already have a library card can sign up for one at no cost. More information is available at www.rgclibrary.org.
