Rio Grande City Native Celebrates 103rd Birthday



Earlier this week, city employees were invited to Starr County Nursing and Transitional Care to join in celebrating the remarkable milestone of resident Gregorio Gonzalez, who turned 103 years old. Mr. Gonzalez, also serving as the Resident-Council President elected by his peers, welcomed the visitors with a heartwarming smile and words of gratitude.


During the visit, Mr. Gonzalez expressed his joy and appreciation to everyone who joined in celebrating his special day. He humbly thanked them for being a part of his life and shared sentiments of feeling blessed to reach such a significant age.


Despite his impressive age, Mr. Gonzalez radiated energy and optimism as he shared stories from his past and expressed excitement for the future. He enthusiastically mentioned his anticipation for next year's celebration, already looking forward to marking his 104th birthday.


City employees who attended the celebration were touched by Mr. Gonzalez's positive spirit and zest for life. His resilience and joyous demeanor served as an inspiration to all present, reminding them of the importance of cherishing each moment and celebrating milestones, both big and small.
